Or use the form on the product page. Please be aware this isn’t a confirmed booking until you receive a reply from us.

NOTE: Some high demand items we require a $100.00 credit card deposit to make a booking.
Cancellation Policy:
More than 48 Hours – full refund
48-24 Hours – put the deposit to a future booking
Less than 24 Hours: Sorry, the deposit will only be refunded if we hire the machine to someone else. And you’re right – how will you know? You won’t – but we have no reason not to be honest.

What we need when you pick up the equipment – or we deliver it.

Identification
Current Victorian drivers licence for identification so we know who we’re letting take away our machine.
Don’t have a Victorian License – or it has expired? Bring along a friend who has one that’s current and we’ll hire to them.

Payment, Booking Deposits and Security Bonds

“No Cash. No Cheques. Only Visa and Mastercard”.
Visa, Mastercard: The hire charge plus a security bond which we return when the machine is returned on time with no damage or extra fuel or usage charges where relevant ($50.00 for items with a hire charge under $145.00, $100.00 for other items) and we hold the numbers as a security. Sorry, no Amex or Diners.
EFTPOS card: Sorry – we’re unable to accept EFTPOS.
Cheques? Sorry, we don’t accept cheques. And you probably don’t have a cheque book anymore anyway.
Cash: We’re sorry – we don’t take cash payments. Why? A working credit card is part of our ID requirements.

 

Payment Types

What’s a Weekend?

Saturday morning through to Monday morning.
If the machine is available Friday after 4.00 we’re happy for you to pick it up earlier.
We open at 6.00 Monday so you can return – but so long as it’s returned by 7.00 the weekend rate will apply.

We’re closed from 5.00pm Saturday until 6.00am Monday – what happens if there’s a breakdown?

Just call the branch you hired from and follow the instructions – someone will answer your call and work out a solution.

What’s a “Same Day Saver”?

Pick up and return on the same day. No worrying about special “half day” or “4 hour” rates. Just simple and easy to work out – for you and us.
Summer time special. Take advantage of daylight saving: pick up after 4.00pm and return by 8.00am next day for same day saver.

Our Damage Waiver and Theft

Here’s the small print

7 DAMAGE WAIVER
7.1 The Fee includes a damage waiver premium unless otherwise agreed in writing.
7.2 If the Fee does include the damage waiver premium, Better Rentals will waive the cost of repairs or replacement of the Hire Equipment only in respect of accidental damage on payment by the Customer of $550 inclusive of GST or 10% of the repair or replacement costs, whichever is greater.
7.3 Damage Waiver is never available for damage or loss due to water damage.

8 THEFT
8.1 If the Fee includes the damage waiver premium and the Hire Equipment is stolen from the Customer during the Hire Period and the theft occurred by forced entry to the Customer’s premises, then if a police report is provided to Better Rentals within 24 hours of the theft and the police report states that the theft occurred by forced entry, Better Rentals will waive the cost of replacement of the Hire Equipment on payment by the Customer of $550 inclusive of GST or 10% of the replacement cost, whichever is greater.
8.2 For the avoidance of doubt, the Customer will be liable for the full replacement cost of the Hire Equipment if the Hire Equipment is stolen and clause 8.1 is not complied with.
