Motor Runs – but pump won’t suck and pump

1. Make sure suction hose isn’t stuck in mud or debris (even a plastic bag) is covering the suction hose sieve).

2. Debris inside pump.
Inside the door is a large cylinderical tank with 4 looped nuts holding on the lid of the discharge chamber.

The nuts can be undone with any metal bar, long spanner.
Safety – TURN MOTOR OFF AND REMOVE KEY.
Remove the nuts
Remove the lid
Inside is a large rubber ball which can be lifted out (bit tricky but it can be gradually lifted out).

If there is debris between the ball and the seal at the bottom of the chamber the seal will be lost.
Debris may have fallen deeper into pump impeller – if small it shouldn’t be a problem but if it can be reached and removed – do so.
Replace rubber ball
Replace lid
Replace nuts
Re- test pump
